I just completed a 318 long block build with some minor upgrades.Edelbrock intake EdelBrock 1409 carburetor (drilled for vacuum)Mallory distributor and Mallory coilI am running at altitude between Ruedi reservoir in eagle county Colorado and lake Powell in Utah 3600 feet and 8500 feet respectively.I have the carburater squared up at .095I am timed at 12 degrees of advanceThe questions is what spark plugs should I be running in this situation? I am currently running what is recommended in the owners manual which I believe are the 9 championsCould I go hotter without damaging the new motor?

Seeing that the carb is running rich (at that altitude) hotter plugs should be okay. Just keep your eye on them at first.
