"I've got a 1985 Johnson 2HP J2RC0C - which I think is just a 2RC0C - the "J" threw me for a little while searching for the year.

Could I trouble someone to confirm that the ratio is 50:1 for gas/oil?

If if is 50:1 what's the easiest way to mix up 2 gallons of gas. I think I saw that it's one pint to six gallons, so that would make it about 5 ounces of oil, right?

Also, I'm fairly new to boat motors, so would purchasing the owners guide be very helpful? I've read tips on tuning the fuel mixture so I could probably figure it out, but I don't know what else might be in the guide that could make my life easier.

Many thanks for any guidance you can provide!"

"Yes, that 1985 2hp model uses

"Yes, that 1985 2hp model uses the 50/1 mixture.

Actually, using a 2 gallon tank, the quanity of oil needed would be 5-1/3 ounces."

Thank you!

I'm glad to

Thank you!

I'm glad to know that. I read a little more last night and realized that rounding to 5 ounces is worse than rounding up to 6 ounces. I'll aim for 5 1/3 but I'm guessing a little extra bit won't hurt.
