Yellow-white lubricant coming out of the lowers

I have some yellowish lubricant coming out of the lowers. I am guessing it is gear oil? Can anyone offer up a suggestion on the source and solution of the problem? I am guessing it is gear oil and some sort of seal went bad. I am hoping to avoid taking it to the boat shop to get it fixed.

Oh and the engine is a 30 HP 4 stroke.

Thanks

Can you see where it is coming from? If you take the gearbox off and drain the oil you can follow this procedure to check it for leaks: https://youtu.be/Lzn-nshSlwk

If it does leak, listen for the air escaping or spray and soapy water on the oil seals and look for bubbles to help locate the seal that has failed.

It is leaking out of a small hole (maybe 3 mm or so in diameter) in the bottom. Also coming out around the prop. Took off the cover and there is some spray on the engine too??

Okay I have purchased a new seals kit and I am about to jump head first into this project. I have the gear oil, and pump, assorted tools (wrenches and such) but no specialty tools. Is there any special tool I need? Anything special I need to know? I am going to follow some youtube videos I have found. Any tips before I jump into this would be helpful.

Thanks!!

Just don't drop the push rod. Remember to replace both the inner and outer o-rings of the shifter cam rod. The inner one will test your skill and patience.
