yellow band fuel lines

my 1970 85hp hohnson has a sticker saying that the fuel lines must be "yellow band type" anybody know if thats neccesary? and why? thanks pat

If I can remember right, I think it meant they were alcohol resistant. But I could be wrong.

I think the yellow hoses were bigger diameter.----------almost everybody can identify colours.-Few can tell the difference between id of hoses without tools.
