" I have a 77 35hp evinrude that has overheated and needs a rebuild. But, I have found a powerhead for sale that the guy claims is a omc 84 35hp. The # he gave me is N61331-84D-0047. My first question, is this an 84 35hp? Second, will this powerhead interchange with mine? The model # for my motor is 35752C. "

"Marshall... The model number of 35752 is indeed a 1977 35hp Evinrude. However N613231-84D-0047 is a number that I seriously doubt OMC ever heard of.

The model number of a 1984 35hp Evinrude would start out with something like 35ECR or 35ELCR.

I have no idea if the two powerheads would interchange.
