Hi just got a mercury 9.8 HP outboard needs a little work but can't find any information on it set. # is 6564008 when I try and look it up it doesn't come up help thanks delane

Your number comes up as an 1984 9.8 [M] Model number 1010204.​

Manual start, short shaft (15”/381mm) driveshaft housing. Tiller handle steering.

Why the need to know the year?

For parts but I found a paperwork it's 2013. Having trouble with the VST fuel run out the bottom when you pump the bubble, no start. Got to get an adapter to check the fuel pressure.

The maker of your motor, Mercury Marine, also has a website where you can simply type in the engine serial number. Years of manufacture mostly no longer matter. It is the engine serial number that determines what parts are used.

Give your serial number another try in that link but add a 0 in front of your 6634794 number... 06634794.
