What are the differences in ge

What are the differences in gearcases between the V6 150 -200 hp and 225 gearcases? I'm interested in those from the late eighties to early nineties.

I believe the 150 & 200 are the same. The 225 is a completely different motor and I'm not sure if the lower unit is different. One of those internet companies selling lower units should be able to tell you.

The best I can tell is that all the midsections that the gearcases bolt up to are the same for 115-225. The only differences I have been able to come up with is gear ratios and the housings for 115-130 are different than the 150-200. Maybe I should explain what I am trying to do: I am trying to figure out if I can use a 150-200 gearcase and with what prop on my 115 Yamaha on a 18' BW Outrage on a temporary basis as backup? Currently I have a 19-K prop. The reason I am intersted in doing this is that in my area there are not many used 115 gearcases available while 150-225 gearcases are more abundant.
