Yamaha tilt/trim

I have a 2007 4 stroke Yami 115 HP. The tilt trim does not raise or lower the motor. The trim motor is working; I have added hydraulic fluid; raised the motor up and down manually, still no reaction, what's-so-ever from the rams. I would think the rods would at least move a tad when the motor activates. Thinking it has a bad pump, I bought a used unit off Ebay, and it gives the same reaction. I find it hard to believe I could have two units acting the same way, as I have read, pump failure is very rare. Do you think, if I invite a bunch of guys over for a beer and we raise the motor up and down manually about 10-20 times, the rams might start showing some life? Please make any suggestions, as the frustration has ruined my quality of life.

my life sucks too. 2013 F200XB 6da
bought the boat 2 months ago, tilt was struggling. shop before i bought it said they cleaned the terminals and all good. well not so, the tilt motor sounded like it was struggling , slow, laboring. then it started to not work unless i released the switch. usually via the switch located on the motor, moved up to the helm and that seemed to work better but still laboring. Installed a new motor, all electrical working properly by my ram is not going up and down. I've released the pressure relief valve, taken on the reservoir screw and manually pulled up and pushed down on the ram. going down took a fair bit of pressure, not exactly smooth, a few bumps along the way, pulled it back up again with a fair bit of muscle. pushing down the second and third time was smoother. yes it was releasing fluid out the reservoir port.

the 'bumping' on the way down also came with a fluid noise, like fluid going through a hole with air....but i'm getting no bubbles or air pressure.
Boscoe a guy on the Yami forum is helping me a bit. He asked just now if it sounds like my tilt motor is running but the pump is not. hard for me to tell based on my lack of experience
.

you said you bought a pump? as opposed to a tilt motor? the shop mentioned to me that they sell very few motors and it's usually an electrical problem. in my case it was the motor that gave out, maybe it gave out as the pump wasn't working properly or i had debris from a failed pump impellor jamming the system and caused the motor to fail. I get that the motor spins the pump. is the pump just an impellor that spins both left and right for up and down? did you solve your problem or have become an alcoholic in a short period of time:)

got it working. bleeding was my issue. to bleed it correct the ram had to be all the way up, fill with fluid, drop the motor
up and down a few times, open the filler cap, bleed out any air, fill with more fluid, cap it, repeat up and down several times, check for air again, fill as needed cap it, run it up and down a few times check again,
