Yamaha t8

Hello,

new to the forum, but long time looker.

I have a 2004 yamaha t8 that I just purchased and did a compression test upon purchase. It would build up to about 175 on each cylinder, but the gauge would slowly go down to zero, like it was the cylinders losing pressure. The motor supposedly only has 10 hours on it and it runs great. I am freaked now and have been searching all over the web to see iif someone else has had similar problems when doing a compression test.

does anyone know what the problem is.? Or could it be my tester? Or am I just freaking out for nothing?

thanks in advance for the help.

Yeah try spraying some oil into the cylinders and recheck with the throttle full open. It's most likely the gauge leaking down, most compression gauges have built in check valves where they capture pressure but don't release it until you press the relief valve to let it out.
