Yamaha motor stopped working.

I have a 60hp tiller 4 stroke yamaha. On the water this morning and lost all power when touching the trim and tilt. motor stopped.Could not start the motor again. Trim and tilt would not come up or down. there was no power at all. got towed back to shore,put boat on the trailer, touched trim and tilt and it worked and now so does motor. baterry has 12.6 volts but motor would not start by battery had to be pull started, but now it will start off the battery. Any advice?

Thanks for your quick reply I was thinking it could be a loose connection, or a dirty terminal or dead battery cell. I have been looking for a loose connected but cant find any.

12.6v is too low. battery could be faulty. should read 13.8v on a multimeter

13.8v maybe when it's running.
