Hi All,
Yamaha 8 two stroke. The plate advises 1997, Original Power Mass 5.9 KW, 28 Kg, serial no 6N0-82. Used in a well on a 25 foot yacht in salt water.
Problem is that the change is very stiff, bad to and from Forward to neutral and even worse to and from reverse. The engine was serviced last year including new gearbox oil and the grease nipples charged. Always been rather stiff through 3 years ownership and getting worse. Could you advise a sequence of checks and action? I have seen some suggestions for other engines - plus gas and re-grease the gear shift rod ...
