Yamaha 55

I have a 1989 Yamaha 55 I had it running good on a stand put it on the boat and put tiller handle on and wired switch up to it now it won’t start has a little fire when you first hit switch then while not spend nothing then when let off switch it fires again then starter started dragging so put another one on it then it started getting fire then the new starter started dragging now no spark again any help on this
