I have a 30hp yamah (30AE) and have replaced the lower unit with a newer overhauled unit (exactly the same type)
The problem I have is that it does not go all the way in - maybe 2-3mm gap.
The causes difficulty in setting the gear shift properly.
What would the reason be for this ???
Could it be the dowels or that the drive shaft doesn.t go in all the way ???
