Yamaha 25 shift shaft very broken

A friend's son brought his motor over for me to check out. He said that it froze during duck season and they could not get it in gear. Maybe they put a good deal of force on it. It is a C25MSHQ. I took a short video of what it is doing.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, but I was wondering what it might entail to repair.

More than likely you will be tearing that lower unit apart.
