"i have a yamaha 225 excel and the number 6 cylinder is not firing. i have good spark (even under load), compression is 110, and the carbs have just been rebuilt. also i noticed that there is a build up of gunk between this cylinder and the exhaust jacket. any ideas would be appreciated. thank you"

no you will need a dva and handheld meter with the factory manual

how do u know 6 has no fire?
 
"i already checked for voltage

"i already checked for voltage to the coil with a dva and had good voltage. i know its not firing because i put a in line spark tester on it while it was running and had good spark, i also used my timing light as a way to test for spark while running and it was good. i also pulled the plug wire off of the plug while it was running and had no change in rpm's. i know its getting fuel because the plug is wet. i god a new plug to replace the old wet one. and it just got wet. its not firing at ilde or off idle, i reved it to 3000 rpm's with no load and it still isnt firing (i pulled the plug wire off the plug and got no change in rpm's). i think ive tried everything to diagnose, but im open to any suggestions. thank you."
