I have a pair of 225 Yamaha 4 strokes has seals done last year by a guy that hauls my boat at the end of the season, this year after 20 hours the crank broke took it to Yamaha dealer the mechanic told me there were bolts missing. The bolts missing were part of the oil system that I have heard can rot in older engine and cause it to suck air with the oil. I need to get proof that these bolts missing caused my problem. Maybe a blow up of this system would do it. The insuance company sent a ajuster to look at it and he said it was not related so I need further proof before I can proceed. Thanks

Bring your engine to your Yamaha dealer and send the insurance guy also to the Yamaha dealer. Now your dealer can convince the insurance guy!

If the guy who hauled your boat and installed new seals made an error, it is his respnsibility, he can claim it to his insurance.

Hanover insurance is dodging the claim with the help of my former friend and mechanic, telling me that changing of this seal does not included the bolts we found missing on the oil pan.
