"my 20 hp Yamaha 2 stroke is fine after the first start of the day but a devil to start cold.
I have a problem priming, even after several pulls the plugs are bone dry. Although the float chamber fills easily and the bulb goes rock hard no petrol ever floods up through the main jet. I have cleaned the carb and checked the float valve it all looks fine. The only way I can force fuel into the carb throat is by standing on the bulb and after about 10 treads petrol can be seen. Any ideas would be welcome, its weird as the engine looks and runs fine once started. The tank and line are new and were not with the engine when I bought it, if I disconnect the carb end of the line and squeeze the bulb it does appear that pressure is there."

if anybody is interested I raised the float arm 1/8 of inch to allow more fuel in float chamber. It doesn't sound much but an 1/8 allows the float to move quite a bit. It started 2nd pull after giving a few squeezes.
I will try a few more times over the next couple of days as I said earlier after the first difficult start its always started easy so cant be certain yet but its looking good.
