"lOSING MY REMAINING HAIR HERE.My engine seems to be suffering from the same dillemma as a few others on the site. Namely cruising along , hit a wave , wake , climb a steep wave , drop off the back of a wave and the engine occassionally but not always loses 50% power and struggles. Have checked the fuel lines , compression , fuel pumps etc and no improvement. One thing I have noticed though is that after hitting a big wave , revs drop etc just make plane but there is the smell of fuel. Not impressed , have had it in the shop , paid the money and no improvement noted. Dangerous when goin out to sea here , nasty bar and go out wide ....losing my trust. Any more help out there."

"I remember that one of the major fishing camps had the same issue with their fuel injected 2 strokes. They fish big water up in the Queen Charlotte Islands. They had power loss climbing big swells. I don't remember what the exact fix was, but it was related to the extreme angle of the boat/motor and fuel delivery. They made a modification not a repair to solve the problem. SG Power Products in Victoria, B.C. serviced those engines and would know what they had to do to"

"Won't be same issue as I described then, as they were not carburated engines. Does it shudder (run rough) while acting up? Or smooth (normal) with no power?"
