my Yamaha 25 2stroke has

my Yamaha 25 2stroke has a charging socket on it which i tested with a light, and the was power ok, but as I accelerated the light got brighter and burned out.
looking under the cowling i found two wires coming from under the flywheel connected directly to two green wires from the chraging socket. Should there be something else here to stop it overcharging, Im worried I damage the battery. Any advice/help welcome."
