Wrist pin removal

So everything I read says my pistons in my 1982 35 hp Johnson will be marked showing the loose side for wrist pin removal. I can find no such markings on my old pistons or my new ones. Apparently they stopped doing this at some point??

Have you looked inside the piston where the wrist pin slides through ??

I've searched them with a magnifying glass

Well maybe somebody will chime in here who has recently overhauled one of these.

Use a propane torch to heat the piston.------Wrist pin will come out with a small hammer then.

Piston sitting upside down on the work bench..... If a loose w/pin side exists, you will be staring at a raised Capital "L" on the piston area housing the w/pin. If the "L" doesn't exist, you may have the new style piston that incorporates a floating w/pin hole, a machined fit whereas the w/pin simply slides out.
