I've got a Carolina Skiff Seachaser 200FS with a 2003 Yamaha V Max 200 HP EFI on it. The engine is the highest HP rating recommended by the manufacturer. The boat had an eight foot dual control tower on it and I strongly suspect the motor was set up with that in mind. I got rid of the tower and the boat is almost scary fast, not quite but almost.

In any case I fish and usually like to cruise along somewhere between thirty and thirty five MPH looking for fish. The Yamaha multi function tach on the boat was partially is partially burnt out and is being replace but from what I could tell in that speed range I was well below the minimum WOT RPM of 4500. So, the question is if I'm spending the day cruising, say 3800 rpm, looking for bait and fish along with trolling then letting it stretch it's legs on the trip home is this going to fall into the range of forcing the engine to lug along or should I be looking to reprop which I'd really rather not have to do? It's quite a trip when that thing does go to full WOT,

thanks
MikeG
