Won't idle?

Ok, I have a 2006 Suntracker Bass Buggy with a 40 HP 4stroke EFI which has always ran great. I fired it up yesterday putted out of the marina with no problems took her up to full throttle for about 5 minutes she sputtered and shutdown. I had a quarter tank of fuel so it wasn't out of gas. I commenced squeezing the bulb but the bulb never went hard. When I tried starting her it would start run a few seconds and then stop. I got towed back to my slip and went and bought a new fuel line and primer bulb and she still does the same thing. I am really confused on this one. Why run great for four days and now it won't run. By the way, the little screw on the top of the fuel cap,, open or closed when running?? Please help, would like to get a few more days on the lake prior to me going back overseas. Thanks..

Always open when running...closed when running causes a vacuum in the tank and the pump can't pull fuel out of the tank. If you ran it closed then it would hiss when you open the screw as air is drawn into the tank.
