one of the 305 crusaders on my boat will die at low rpm when it is hot and then not start again untill it cools. I've replaced the electrical system rebuilt the carb and fuel filters. Does anybody have any other ideas?

..caused by a filter located before a fuel pump? See it all the time.

PS: Strainers/ seporators (coarse filtration) can be before the pump. Filters (fine filtration) should be AFTER the pump.

"I have the same exact problem

"I have the same exact problem on one of my Twin 305 Crusaders. I already changed the fuel filters. I suspect it may be the COIL going bad. The engine seems to drop out only when it's hot. It starts cold and it dies on deceleration and will not restart until cool. Any other thoughts? Also, this engine runs 10 to 15 degrees hotter than the port engine. Full out it runs over 180 degrees. Any thoughts on why one would run hotter than the other. They both have new seawater impellars, new coolers, new belts, all tight. Both coolers are identical and full of coolant."
