Man I need a little help. Bran

Man I need a little help. Brand new to this stuff and I bought this 1988 Sunbird Cuddy inboard/outboard Ford 4.3 gas. The wiring on the front panel is messed up a little. It looks as if the ignition was by passed and and not sure how it goes back. The rest of the gages look fair but some extra wiring is hanging off of a couple of them. I need a mauel on the wiring for this rascal..Where oh where do I find it.

"dash wiring diagram for a Sunbird probably never existed. They probably just sketched it out at the factory. Your motor is a 2.3 Ford or a 4.3 Chevrolet. Once you figure out which, Buy an OEM OMC Cobra manual off eBay and use the engine's requirements to figure out the wiring. Boat wiring is quite simple, overall, but the OMC schematic is a good resource for gauges, start/ign. neutral safety circuit etc."

help...I just wired a ignition

help...I just wired a ignition on my sunbird corsair and the purple wire with a yellow stripe that runs to the coil smokes when i try to start it plus i'm not getting no fire from my spark plugs
