wire color

Guys I'm installing a stereo and I'm trying to figure out what color is the accesory wire coming from the ignition switch on my 200 HP Evenrude, so I can hook up my red wire in to it, so my stereo runs only with my switch on... any one knows??
 
It is a mistake to run other electrical systems from the ignition switch.-------Run a seperate power supply to a fuse block to the front of the boat.
 
Have you looked under the dash for a fuse block and a grounding bar to add components.

There has to be one there up under the bottom of the dash. Get on your back and look for it. You may need an in-line ignition noise suppressor for the power supply.
 
Purple is the power on from the key wire.....

I dont know enough about electrical inteferance, to help on wether thats a good idea....but i understand your thought process..... you want power supplied to your stereo only when the key is on.

Iguess to be safe I''ll use a separate power supply and put a switch on it torun the stereo...but the stereo calls for the ignition wire, so the stereo ison only when the ignition switch is on, I guess to avoid accidentally leavingthe stereo on and draining the battery just like in car...
