What is the most simple way to

What is the most simple way to drain the manifolds and the raw water side of my semi closed cooling system on a 2004 merc 4.3L engine? I use my boat all year but the location that I store it can and does drop well below freezing for a few hours a day. I have a closed cooling system with raw water manifolds. I would like to be able to perform this relatively easily because I never no when I will take the boat out and then put it back for a week or a month. Thanks for the help.

"There should be a drain plug

"There should be a drain plug on each manifold. The manifold plugs are underneath, toward the back. One on each manifold. Stick a pick into the hole after you unplug them to make sure they are open.

Be aware that water may stay in the mannys after you remove the plugs. The only way I know of to get it out is to pour some antifreeze into the manifold hoses. This will push out the water.

Are your risers open to the manifolds, and will drain into the manifolds? if not you need to drain them as well.

What about your powersteering cooler? It is located inline of the water inlet hose. You may need to dump some AF down the inlet hose to push the water out."
