"I just think I winterized my 115 Rude (1982). I checked the lower unit...yep weeped fresh gear oil...no water. But the top check screw when out does not show any oil...."shouldn't it be filled to that point?"

Also, other steps I did where adding fuel stabilizer and then Fogged the 4 carbs. Just wondering though...when I sprayed Evinrude fogging oil into each carb while at about a 2500 rpm I sprayed for about 1 minute per carb. At first the engine revved up quite a bit. Is that normal?

After smoking out much of my neighborhood I shut the engine down and called it DONE. Does that sound ok????????"

sounds about How I do it if yo

sounds about How I do it if you are worried about lower unit not having enough oil buy a pump that screws into a qt. bottle of oil for around ten bucks plus qt.of oil and remove bottom screw and push oil up till it runs out of top screw then reinstall both screws you will lose a little when replacing bottom scerw so do it quick I take my battery out of boat and put it on charger then store it inside

"Craig, OK, now pump some grease into the zercs and wipe some grease on the steering rod. You might spray the powerhead with some corrosion guard. Did you put some fuel stabilizer into the fuel tank? If not, you need to do that. After that you might run it a bit more to get the treated fuel into the carbs and then refog it."

"Whelan 111, I will do that I do have the pump now that I think of it. Thanks.

And Chris, grease I will. I did stabilize the fuel though..good there. The powerhead I hit too. Thanks guys.

Hey any idea though why the engine revved up when fogging? I was told it would stall out. Nope, just revved for a little while then calmed down. When I was done fogging, I immediately shut the engine down."

the engine will rev up when ad

the engine will rev up when adding fogging oil threw the carbs becuse the engine is burning it its like adding more fuel after it starts smoking good shut it down with switch

Outboards are generally "

Outboards are generally " self draining " all you need to do is turn the flywheel a couple of turns after shut down to fully drain the waterpump.
