"Thanks everybody for all there help, I have a quick question. I will be waterfowling this year, we live in southcentral IL and it does get single digits quite often. Should i drain lowerunit every time i use it? It's sad to say but i do not have a heated garage but i do have storage out of the elements. Thanks"

Lower units are full of oil an

Lower units are full of oil and they do not need to be drained at all. Now there are also casting cavities that drain themselves as long as the small holes are not plugged.If you have water getting into the oil than the lower unit needs to be resealed as they should NOT leak.
