will not run at idle

Motor will run at high rpm's but when motor taken out of gear will shut off. .
Have checked all coils with tester
Have cleaned all 3 carbs.
Have replaced all spark plugs

You should be able to adjust that at the throdle. I don't think you have a big problem. See if you have an adjustment at the cable going into the shifter.

You also should have a idle adjustment screww at the Carb.

What are the results of a compression test ??---------Does the hose for the water telltale come off the side of the block or from the top near the cylinder head ?-Does spark jump a gap of 7/16" on all 3 leads ??
