Wich electronic ignition do i use

"K i have Marine SAE J1171 Distributor, was wondering wich pertronix electronic ignition i can buy... or other soulutions.. have power goin to the distributor but nothing coming out.. is that the best choice. changed the coil and cap everthing but the points/distributor. I was looking at the pertronix site but have no clue wich one i need.. Thanks.."

"Clayton, SAE J1171 is NOT a distributor, but rather a standard for marine external ignition protection. If you have a Chevy 350, chances are your distributor is a Prestolite IBM-7011A or IBM-7013A. Check the plate in the distributor, then once you know which type you have you can get the right ignition kit.
