The smaller motors up to 60hp

The smaller motors up to 60hp were JAPANESE made at one time and the larger were the same as MERCURY.

"thanks for the replies. I talked to a local dealer and he said it will be essentially the same as a mercury of the same year and power, just to be sure I had the ser# and other numbers off of the plate. I figured it was japanese when I saw "made in Japan" on the data plate. duh. happily, everything is working fine. Finally hooked it all together Monday, and she cranked right up and ran. Sea trials soon hopefully.
I'm new to the outboard scene so watch this space for more questions from this greenhorn.
