I've picked up an '08 DF50 minus the controls cables etc. There's a small white wire with a mini fuse located near the ECM. Will this connect to pos side of battery for full time power for the module? I've got a 2000 Evinrude 40hp 4 stroke (df40) on my pontoon but I dont recall the white wire and boat is 45 mins away on slip. Thanks for any input, dont want to fry anything when I run battery cables

The odd thing is, the white wire has a ring terminal on it and is only long enough to reach the starter solenoid and in fact was on the post of the solenoid but no nut on the post. I think p o just left it off when he unattached the rigging/main harness/battery cables

Your white wire(AKA Sub Battery Cable)could have been hooked up to the starter, Suzuki recommends coming off the battery due to potential voltage drops during starting.

From a 2009 DF90A setup manual.

Yes, that seems to be the common consensus. I've extended the white wire and secured it along the battery cables and also moved fuse into battery compartment which will be easier access while on the water. Thanks for your input my friend
