Which Bottom end will interchange with my stern drive?

Hi,
Was going to pick up a spare stern drive to have on hand. I have a 1969 pre alpha. What years bottom ends will interchange with it? Has the pin on the drive shaft.

Pin really dosent mean much, it`s the number of splines on the lower driveshaft.If you have 8 (very early drive) then you need only early parts. early and late are not interchangeable because of the spline count.

Those old Mod.1s don't interchange with anything but themselves, due to the spline count...

Ayuh,... The castle nut is on the upper,...
The pre-load pin is on the Lower unit's input shaft, aka: drive shaft...
