When to change thermostat?

How often should I change the thermostats? 1995 454XL complete system FWC. Engines run great and T-stats were replaced two years ago along with complete coolant flush and refill. No sign of running hot or cool. I am of the maintance freak. I change all belts and plug wires along with my normal annual service items.

Replacing the 28 year old tstats in my 454 Crusaders. They still work fine but engines are big redone so now is the time along with everything else.
