What's the difference between Merc 215E & 215H drives??

Hello,
I recently purchased a 1970 John Allmand 23’ with fully functioning Mercruiser 302 Ford 215 I/O. I have owned and maintained another Allmand 23 outfitted with the OMC electric shift, and am not entirely familiar with the Merc 215’s

Can anyone explain to me the basic difference between the 1970 Mercruiser 215E and 215H outdrives? Furthermore, can anyone tell me if either one of these used any type of transmission (clutch or hyraulic?) between the engine and outdrive unit?
Many thanks in advance,
Craig

I think that the difference in the two is that the 215H has a Warner* hydraulic transmission foor forward /reverse. The 215-E is shifted by a cable which goes into the upper gearcase for forward/reverse.* Hope this helps-------------------
