"Daniel, not trying to burst your bubble but there is virtually nothing you can do to a stock motor, that has a "correctly" matched prop (according to your rig) to improve the performance to any sort of level that you will notice.
It takes a 50% increse in horsepower to get a 15% increase in performance, so fiddling around trying to squeeze one or two extra horses out of a motor is an expensive exercise in futility.
Don't believe the hype from various aftermarket mfgs that would have you believe their product will produce these outstanding results - they just won't.
I have tried/tested hundreds of "add on's" that make all kinds of claims and while some do help with handling or correct a particular issue, none of them increase speed or save gas to any extent that you can actually notice - unless you lie to yourself.
After you figure out the "normal" loaded displacement weight of both of your rigs (boat, motor, batteries, gear, passengers, junk) any decent prop shop can help you determine what prop will best suit your needs.
In 99.9% of the cases, a boat used in fresh water is fine with an OEM aluminum 3 blade prop.
You would get slightly better performance from a Stainless Steel prop. Of course it would cost you 4 or 5 times as much and you would have to load a few thousand dollars worth of test gear on the boat to actually measure that minute performance increase.
Despite my advice I still do many "upgrades" for guys who don't quite believe me when I say they won't notice. But since their dollars go to my favourite charity (Me), if they insist I will make the changes.
Spend your money on something worthwhile - upgrades to a stock outboard is not high on that list...."
