thats got to be a full days work plus parts and materials and assuming none of the harware breaks off and screws him up. if the labor is less than $ 400 its a gift.

Depends on where you are. I have a receipt from the previous owner who had that done and the bill came to ~ $1200. That is here in the Seattle area. I wish people would realize we don't all work for Microsoft!

A couple of years ago, I asked the boat supply place that was keeping my boat over the winter to replace out the impeller. I normally do all my own work, but was busy that winter and asked them to do it just for convenience - not thinking it could cost that much for a job that should take no more than an hour. They charged me $450. I was shocked."
