I have a Merc

"Hello Group,

I have a Mercury 9.9, Number on motor is OT138308. Was wondering what year this motor is? Was having problems finding this motor on Crowley Marine using the above number.

"Chris, that looks to be a 2000 model, at least that will be the year it was built.

It could have been sold as a "brand new" model all the way up until 2005.

The year is not encoded in the "production" number so a Merc dealer never has "last years model" on the floor.

It's sold as "x" model year in which ever year it actually sells.

All parts for a 1995 thru 2005 9.9 Merc (2 stroke) were identical...."
