The " common parts " manual has RX 13 gearcase assembly #593515 and the 74 40 as #386609. Gearcase housing only RX 13 is #593514 and the 74 40 as #386052.From that info it may not interchange.

The manual also shows the same

The manual also shows the same driveshaft for 33hp motors and 40hp motors up to 73 then in 74 the 40hp has a different part # for the driveshaft.

Won't go the drive shaft is smaller on the 33hp than it is on the 40 hp. thanks for all the info
