Hi! Could you tell me what year my Mercury 150 hp is? The s\n is 5503822.

Both years were produced in a single production run, but given your exact production number my guess would be mid 1980. Mechanically the 1980/81 models were identical so it makes no difference either way from a parts perspective.

If you happen to live in one of those jurisdictions that require the model year for the licence or ownership, I would feel safe calling it a 1980.
