"I would like to find out what year my evinrude motor is. The ID tag is missing. The cowl has 9.9 decals.IT doesn't appear have have a welch plug on the side next to the fuel pump, but they is a welch plug on the Top rear rightside of the block. The numbers on this plug are 10524C E0001821. can anyone tell me year/model so I can buy a manual to keep this old evinrude serviced and running good? Thanks"

"Neil, your model number is 10524 which makes it a 1975.

The C is just a production run (or 3rd run of 9.9's that year.

The E is for Evinrude and the 0001821 is the serial."

I took for granted it was a 1977 but after looking on the site for model # I found they never made a 20 HP between 1974-1978. anything would help thanks

"Shane, although some of these models do not appear on the BRP website, Johnson did produce 20 horse motors between 1969 and 1979 and you are correct - yours is a 1977 model..."
