Just bought a 40 hp mariner an

Just bought a 40 hp mariner and need to know the year and possibaly what repair manual is recomended. Any help would be appreciated..thanx.

"Chad, that is a Yamaha built (for Mercury) - can only give you a range (built between 1989-92).

That is a "C" model "ELT" version and the records on that particular version of the C model are kinda poor.

In any event, a decent all round repair manual is Seloc's "Mariner Manual for 1 and 2 cylinder" - available in on-line and printed format (from this site and many marine dealers) for about 35 bucks..."
