what timing degree to set 1973 Johnson 115hp

Hi I'm restoring a 1973 115 HP Johnson seahorse the service manual talks about using test equipment to set the timing and I have no idea were I could get that equipment. Is it possible to set it with a timing light and if that OK what degree would I set when cranking the engine? If I sound stupid Am sorry My first real attempt at restoring a older 2 stroke out board.
 
The timing on these motors is set at the factory.-----------And unless it was " molested " by someone it does not go out of adjustment !

I understand what you’re saying I’m just trying to check everything because of the other issues I’ve address since buying this boat. He had gutted the much of the wiring and replaced it with speaker wire. The 2 wires coming from the bilge pump were connected to the two wires coming from the horn. The only thing electrical on the boat that worked was the bow navigation light. The boats come a long way all the electrical has been restored back to the original documents from Bayliner in the correct color code. The water pump was shot 3 out of 4 ignition coils were arching, I’m not sure if the carbs were ever rebuilt. The list goes on and on I just don’t want to leave anything unchecked.
