"Hi,
in extension of our conversation here http://www.marineengine.com/discus/messages/12479/192175.shtml - I'm in the process of hunting for a threaded puller tool to remove the flywheel on my 15hp (original Merc part #91-13661A1).
Since I'm a bit wary of using a claw-type puller on an aluminum flywheel, I'll try to find a screw-in tool before turning to the auto equipment.
However, my question is: Does anyone know offhand or have access to the dimensions of the internal flywheel thread on a Belgian-made '93 15hp? (I'm about a 3-hour drive away from the boat so can't check for myself.) I guess it would be too good to be true if it were compatible with the 22/24/26/27mm motorcycle flywheel pullers available for $8 at the local hardware store..?
Most of the Merc flywheel pullers advertised online cite a 1.5" thread, but would this be applicable to a 15hp of this vintage as well?"
