"all my outdrive says on it is mercruiser 350, probably for the 350 engine. I am not sure by the year, the first 2 numbers in the serial are 96. does anyone have a clue of what kind it would be? alpha/bravo etc. It looks fairly larger than others iv seen."

Looks like an Alpha I but depending on the year it could be a pre-Alpha; a model 1 or MR drive likely.
Do you know the year of the boat?
Its the last 2 digits in the boat hull S.N.; stbd side back corner.

"it is an 83, according to the person i bought the boat from it was repowerd a few years ago, does not look like it was repowerd with new equipment but i guess it was changed out. also it says 1.50 on the same sticker as the serial..is this the gear?"

1983 was the first year of the Alpha, so that is likely what it is.
