What is this and what should it connect to?

Mystery (on a BF75A), we were out, and then noticed when we got home the following small hose not connected. I tried to feel for where it should connect to. Hands got greasy, but did not find it.

Motor is tilted up. circled the unattached end. Anything to do with the hydraulics?

Looks like the pilot tube for a speedometer. If you don't have a manual speedo then it wasn't ever connected to anything.

Thanks, searching through manuals, it might have been left there by last mechanic for testing something? I'll check with my mechanic.

Nope---It is for a speedometer feed.--------Often not used today as people use phones to tell gps speed.
