What is the proper way to disconnect VRO system?

I just recently purchased a used boat with a Johnson 150 HP (Model Number J150STLCEM). It came with the oil injection system disconnected. I was about 15 minutes in to my "maiden voyage" with it when it started acting up. I get to 3000 RPMs and it starts bogging down. First I tried dry gas and fornthe first few minutes, things seemed to be back to normal, but all of a sudden same thing again at 3000 RPMs. OK - figure let's try the least expensive thing - new fuel filter. Same symptoms.I'm wondering if the disconnected oil injection system might be part of it. Can someone tell me what the proper items that need to be disconnected or plugged?Thanks

Oil inlet on VRO pump must be plugged.
Electric connector from VRO to wiring harness disconnected. (Disable NO oil alarm)
2% oil-mix in fuel tank!!!!
Remove oil tank and disconnect alarm wire from engine. (Low oil)
