What is missing?

These photos show two fittings, one in the block and the other in the exhaust manifold. When water is supplied to the outdrive and the engine is running, water can be seen spraying out of the block with force. I assume there is a pipe that is supposed to go from the block to the exhaust manifold to supply cooling water. Does anyone know if this assumption is correct and if so where can I acquire the pipe or fittings. I’ve tried a 5/16 fitting but the threads are not the same. Thank you.

They are petcocks used to drain the block & manifold. The internal "wing looking" portion has been removed.
