I have a 2005 Johnson 15 hp 2 stroke (J15RSOC) that is new to me. It sat for a while so I changed out all the fuel lines, rebuilt the fuel pump and cleaned and rebuilt the carb. The carb that is installed is different from the diagrams in the Johnson service manual. It appears the high speed orifice is on the nozzle well instead of the float chamber and the nozzle well plug has a hole in it. I cleaned up everything, replaced the plug with the solid one that comes in the kit, and replaced the float and valve seat assembly. It seems to work fine now. I'm just curious what this carb is since it does not appear to be the original design for this engine? I attached some photos.
