I have a mariner 50hp, 3 cylinder 2 stoke outboard and wanted to know how to change the water pump. i don't know the year maybe a 1990-1994 the problem is do i have to disconnect the shift rod. If so this one has a gear like thing on it not just the nuts ,i have no idea how this comes apart. Any help would be very appreciated.
